The Top 6 of 2006
Posted on December 29th, 2006 at 2:11 pm by Blog Girl
Ah, what a year it’s been. I love it here in Hollywood, where I can be super close to the stars and deliver the latest dish to you 24/7, through this web site, and also in BOP and Tiger Beat magazines. There are so many things that entertained me this year, so it was difficult to pick my Top 6 faves. So without further adieu, here they are:
#6 - Girl groups: Okay, let’s give a round of applause for Pussycat Dolls, Danity Kane, Cheetah Girls, and Aly & AJ. These girls not only danced, rocked, and sang their way to our hearts, but they also made great role models. You go, girls!
#5 - Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco: It was so hard to decide between these two bands, so I’m including both of them on my list. Pete Wentz or Brendon Urie? Come on, they’re both so hot!
#4 - Dylan and Cole Sprouse: These twin hotties are not only funny, they’re totally “Suite,” too! Every single episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody had me laughing all year! Their costars Ashley Tisdale and Brenda Song also rock.
#3 - Pirates of the Carribean - Dead Man’s Chest: Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp made a huge splash this summer in this sequel. I already cannot wait for the third (and, perhaps, final) movie in the Pirates series.
#2 - Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus is the coolest girl ever, and she does double duty in this super funny show. I totally want to be her BFF, but I also want to hang out with her sidekicks Emily Osment (as Lilly) and cutie Mitchel Musso (as Oliver).
#1 - High School Musical: Say it with me, girls…ZAC EFRON! Come on, admit it, you’ve seen this movie way more times than you can count, and you still love it. I know I do. The singing, the dancing, the super cute love story. It’s everything we could ever ask for, right? Nope, because we’re getting so much more in the sequel that comes next summer!
I think you’ll agree with most of my choices, but I’d still love to know what you think. Don’t forget to leave me a comment with who or what you’re most looking forward to in 2007 - is it the sequel to High School Musical? How about the new Harry Potter movie? Are you already waiting in line for the summer’s Warped Tour? Drop me a comment, so I know just what you and I can talk about in 2007!
Pete: “No beef in 2007″
Posted on December 27th, 2006 at 2:27 pm by Blog Girl
Has Pete Wentz gone vegetarian? Nope, but the Fall Out Boy cutie did make a resolution not to have any “beef” with other bands in the upcoming year. Why did Pete make that comment? Apparently, fans of the band Avenged Sevenfold claim that a scene from FOB’s video “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race” (the part where guitarist Joe Trohman plays guitar on top of a casket) is a rip-off of Avenged’s “Seize the Day” video.
“I’ve never actually seen the Avenged Sevenfold video,” Pete says. “We met the guys on the Warped Tour. They have always been really nice every time we met them.Yeah, I’m trying to be beef-free. There’s no beef yet.” As you may know, Pete was involved in a sorta feud with The Killers’ Brandon Flowers for most of 2006.
So, I wanna know what YOU think. Post your comments and let me know what you think about Fall Out Boy’s new video!
Harry Potter: Book 7
Posted on December 21st, 2006 at 5:05 pm by Blog Girl
OMG! Have you heard the latest Harry Potter news??? Author J.K. Rowling has just released the title of the seventh and final book in the series.
Are you ready for it?
The title is… (drumroll, please) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!!!
Speaking of Harry Potter, if you had a chance to interview the movie’s star Daniel Radcliffe, what would you ask him? Leave me your comments, and when I get a chance to chat with the cutie, I’ll ask him your questions!

Avril’s back!
Posted on December 20th, 2006 at 3:53 pm by Blog Girl
Hey guys,
Have you heard the news about Avril Lavigne? She is going to release a new album. According to the singer, the record doesn’t come out until April 2007, but her first single should be out in February. “The first single is called ‘Girlfriend,’” Avril says. “I promise you guys will love this record. It is my favorite one! And I can’t wait! It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident in a playful way…all the good stuff.” Avril’s last album was Under My Skin, and that was released in 2004, so we can all agree that it’s about time she came out with new music!

Did ya see TRL today?
Posted on December 19th, 2006 at 5:37 pm by Blog Girl
Oh my, Beyoncé, Bow Wow, Chris Brown AND Fall Out Boy? It was almost too much for me to take. Soooo exciting.
So what was your favorite part? Be being adorable as always, or the oh-so-hot Bow/Chris performance? I personally dug the new Fall Out Boy video, “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race.”
What did you think? Do you like the song? Is Pete overdoing it with the eyeliner? Did ya laugh? Let me know!

Ashley on the road, JoJo in the news
Posted on December 11th, 2006 at 11:21 am by Blog Girl
Hey guys!
I’m back from a super fun weekend, and I’ve got two very important things to talk to you about. First, the lovely and talented Ashley Tisdale called the BOP and Tiger Beat offices in Hollywood last week. She was chilling in her hotel room in Sacramento, California, where the High School Musical gang stopped on their way to a concert in Stockton. Ashley told me that she was very nervous the first night of the HSM tour, but the way she gets rid of those butterflies is by doing the same silly chant that her character Sharpay does in the movie! She even made the sound just for us. She’s so funny. Ashley also dished on what each song on her album Headstrong means to her, and how her fans could totally relate to all of them. You guys will have to catch the complete 411 in your next issues of BOP and Tiger Beat magazines!
Okay, as you know, JoJo is enjoying the success of her album and single “Too Little, Too Late.” I just got news that the singer just signed on to appear in advertisements for Rhino Red junior footwear! JoJo will star in the advertising campaign - I’m talking magazines, TV ads, billboards…the works! JoJo’s such a hardworking gal, and I think she deserves all her success. Keep up the good work, girl!
That’s it for now, guys. I’ll have more Hollywood news and exclusive chats with the stars for you later.
Kisses!

Yeah! New Usher CD on the way!
Posted on December 7th, 2006 at 11:31 am by Blog Girl
Gosh, it’s been so busy around the BOP and Tiger Beat offices. We’re setting up all sorts of cool photo shoots and interviews and Ms. Ashley Tisdale herself called to chat yesterday (more on that later!)
I did hear some cool news about Usher, though. Turns out he’s working on a brand new CD. Wow, finally, it seems like it’s been ages, hasn’t it?! Well, he says he’s really influenced by artists like John Legend (one of MY faves) and the superhot Justin Timberlake. Usher’s buddies Thicke and Jay-Z will appear on the CD, which will be out mid-2007.
Big congrats to Justin, Carrie Underwood, Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera for their Grammy nominations! Check out the show February 11, 2007 to see if they win!
Zac’s New Look!
Posted on December 5th, 2006 at 10:28 am by Blog Girl

Wow, we just saw this brand new pic of Zac – and we’ve gotta say that we’re totally diggin’ his new ‘do! What do you guys think? Should he wear it this way in High School Musical 2? Or go back to the signature locks that we all fell for last year? Leave us your comments and let us know what you think. Who knows - maybe you’ll even see them in a future issue!

Battle of the divas!
Posted on December 5th, 2006 at 9:33 am by Blog Girl
I love Tuesdays, because it’s when all the new CDs and DVDs come out. As far as DVDs, you know what’s in stores today? Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest. Mmmm… Johnny. Mmmmmm… Orlando!
BUT it’s a huge day in music stores, because both Gwen Stefani and Ciara have new CDs out today. Gwen’s The Sweet Escape, features the addictive “Wind It Up.” Seriously, I cannot get that song out of my head. On the other hand, Ciara’s The Evolution is out today, too. It has the superpretty and cool song, “Promise.”
So… which CD are you guys going to pick up today? Or which one would you rather have?
Also, I have to do a shout-out to Carrie Underwood and the cast of High School Musical, who have the top-selling albums of 2006, according to SoundScan. Wow! Way to go, guys!
