One super lucky fan will share screen time with Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the High School Musical: Senior Year gang! The reality show High School Musical: Get in the Picture, with host Nick Lachey, premieres on ABC July 20 at 8 pm.
Finalists will compete for a spot in a music video that will be shows at the end of HSM 3, which airs this fall. He or she will “get in the picture” with the stars and become part of movie history! Tell me, why do you think you’d be the perfect addition to the HSM cast?

I just got off the phone with Ryne Sanborn who is in Salt Lake City, Utah RIGHT NOW rehearsing dance numbers for High School Musical 3! Ryne couldn’t reveal too much on the plot (trust me, I tried to get it out of him!) but he did confirm that there will be an East High PROM! He also hinted that Sharpay might have a new crush, and his character Jason gets a girlfriend! “We are going to cover everything that goes along with senior year,” Ryne admits.
Although they haven’t actually started filming the movie, Ryne says everyone — including Zac Efron — is already in Utah rehearsing dance scenes. “Everything is much more intense this time around,” he says. “The dance numbers are longer and THE SETS ARE BIGGER. The cast spends a lot of time at the hotel spa relaxing our sore muscles!”
Ryne also told me that everyone is getting along great and the older cast members have welcomed Wildcat newbies Matt Prokop, Justin Martin and Jemma McKenzie-Brown into the HSM family. “They are really cool,” he says. “Everyone is hanging out with everyone and no one is left out.” Go Wildcats!

And here’s what director Kenny Ortega has to say about the three actors:
“Peter Barsocchini’s exciting script for ‘High School Musical 3′ called for the addition of three sophomore characters, so we set out on a massive casting search across North America and England to find just the right young actors to play the parts. We think these talented performers will bring lots of humor, new twists, and musical fun to the film. Jemma was one of the many young actresses that we met in London, and she impressed us with her singing and dancing, in addition to being very exciting and effervescent. Matt has a terrific personality, and a great sense of comedy and fun. And Justin had a great presence and charisma, besides being a wonderful comedic actor who could really dance. I am confident that the three new actors joining our original cast will help to bring great musical thrills, surprises and a lot of fun to Senior Year and the halls of East High.”

Auditions for dancers and extras to appear in HSM 3 are taking place next week, starting March 10th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dancers must be formally trained, be at least 14 years old, and look like a high-schooler. The film has been given a name (though things often change the last minute in Hollywood) - High School Musical 3: Senior Year - and will find Troy (Zac), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), and their friends facing their final year as East High Wildcats.
