OMJ! So before I went to the AI finale last week, I totally forgot to tell you guys about my trip to the east coast! I was lucky enough to score tickets and backstage passes to Z100’s annual Zootopia concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where pop music’s hottest acts performed to kick off the summer in style. Earlier in the day, I caught Miley checking out her brother Trace’s band, Metro Station, performing their hit song “Shake It” outside the stadium in a very cool pre-show. After their performance, Trace and Mason (who’s also Mitchel’s big brother!) stopped in the press room backstage and fielded questions from reporters. They told me they were superpsyched for their summer tour with Good Charlotte because they’ve really looked up to them through the years. They also said that they’re totally obsessed with Sean Kingston’s album, which I’ve gotta admit kind of surprised me!
I was definitely excited when I found out that Jesse McCartney was performing, too. He looked so great and told me how excited he was for his new album. He also opened up about how he felt when his last album didn’t do so well, so look out for that in an upcoming issue of Tiger Beat!
Can I tell you how surprised I was to see Nick J rockin’ a new ’do at the American Idol finale last week? He didn’t tell me he was going for a new look when I saw him hanging outside the celebrity gift lounge with Kevin and Joe, so I’m wondering if it was planned or more of a spur of the moment thing. I guess you’ll have to keep reading Tiger Beat and BOP to find out!
But as much as Nick’s haircut surprised me, I was even more surprised to run into Donnie from Making the Band 3! He wasn’t performing; he was actually there to introduce Danity Kane onstage at the show. He is seriously one of the sweetest guys ever and he told me all about his debut album, which hits stores in August. He asked me if he could make a video for you guys and of course I said yes!
All in all, it was an exciting day and an amazing way to kick of the summer. What summer concerts are you most looking forward to?
Pop star Jesse McCartney and iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove are stopping by Nick’s Dance on Sunset studio tomorrow. Jesse’s gonna sing his latest hit “Leavin” while Miranda’s going to check out cool choreography from the show’s talented dancers! The episode airs tomorrow at 9 PM on Nickelodeon.
I’m still watching all the action, but I just had to let you know what I just saw - Frankie Jonas and Demi Lovato’s little sister, Madison, running around on the sidelines together and playing with a jump rope. SO CUTE!

- Cody Linley told me he just recorded an audio version of the Bible. He’s the voice of Jesus. Corbin Bleu, Emily Osment, Annasophia Robb, Alyson Stoner and Jesse McCartney are also in it.
- Cody also said he and Jesse are the Hardy Boys for a new video game!

I had a great time last night at the DVD premiere party for Alvin and the Chipmunks. The super funny (and furry) movie features the voice of singer Jesse McCartney as Theodore, one of the singing chipmunks. He gave me the scoop on his new album Departure and what inspired his new sound. “It’s about my experiences the last year, especially with girls and heartbreak,” Jesse says. Aww…need a hug, J? I also ran into my girl KeKe Palmer and the fun members of T Squad, who performed their hits inside the jammin’ party at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.
One of my highlights of the night was chatting with Wizards of Waverly Place star Jennifer Stone. She was so sweet, dishing secrets about the show, her friendship with Selena Gomez, and of course, showing me how to do THE CRAZY FUNKY HAT DANCE! Well, guess what? I got it on video, just for you! Enjoy!
Last weekend I got to hang out with Corbin Bleu, Emily Osment, Jesse McCartney, Sara Paxton, Drake Bell, and Devon Werkheiser at the Mother Goose Parade in El Cajon, California. It was a blast and everyone I talked to was so excited for the holidays!
I had a great time hanging out at the red carpet and backstage at the American Music Awards. Music’s biggest stars came out for the show (held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles), from Miley Cyrus to Jesse McCartney to the cast of High School Musical. These guys are all over town this week, promoting the upcoming tour, which you got a preview of (check out yesterday’s blog)!
Miley was the first to stop and chat with us on the red carpet. She brought along her dad Billy Ray, and she looked super cute in a sparkly white dress. Right next to Miley were the Cheetah Girls. Kiely, Sabrina, and Adrienne giggled while they told us about getting ready for the big night.
Fans and even other press people on the red carpet started going wild when “Wind It Up” singer Gwen Stefani walked by. She was rushed inside, so she didn’t have time to chat. The Cheetah Girls told us they were so excited to see Gwen, one of their favorite performers. “Chemicals React” rockers (and AMA nominees) Aly and AJ greeted us with the biggest hugs ever. We asked the girls who took longer to get ready, and the verdict is in: both of them! These two are so much fun to chat with, and they looked so good in their dresses.
Cutie Chris Brown had time to do a video shout out for BOP and Tiger Beat readers. He’s such a sweetheart. Who else did we spot on the red carpet? Well, how about JoJo and Fall Out Boy right next to each other! Unfortch, JoJo was also rushed inside, but she did wave and gave us a flying kiss. Okay, it was a mission to get Fall Out Boy to do a shout-out to you guys. Mission accomplished! Pete even makes his sneering face right after. He’s so funny!
It was mere minutes before the start of the show, but the red carpet was still buzzing with celebrities. The cast of HSM finally made their way to our spot on the carpet, and they all looked sensational. Zac Efron couldn’t make it, but Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel were all there. They said it feels like a school reunion every time they all get together. They really are such close friends.
During the show, I got to go backstage and hang out in the General Press Area. This is where award winners, presenters, and performers go after stepping off the stage. I knew I was going to get some good stuff here for you. Jesse McCartney stopped by and told us he just read a script for a movie - so watch out for Jesse’s screen comeback! American Idol winners Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks also chatted with us backstage. They’re both so thankful for the opportunities winning Idol has given them. Stars like JoJo, JC Chasez, and Sean Paul also stopped by the Press Area. I had so much fun.
