Auditions for dancers and extras to appear in HSM 3 are taking place next week, starting March 10th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dancers must be formally trained, be at least 14 years old, and look like a high-schooler. The film has been given a name (though things often change the last minute in Hollywood) - High School Musical 3: Senior Year - and will find Troy (Zac), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), and their friends facing their final year as East High Wildcats.

The movie (that WILL be shown in theaters instead of TV) finds Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) wondering what will happen to their relationship after high school graduation. Will they stay together or say goodbye? I’m biting my nails until I find out, how about you??? Here’s a small movie detail I also found out: the students will put together another musical that expresses their feelings, hopes, and fears about what the future holds after they graduate. Some of your favorite stars have just signed on to star in a couple new movies. First up, Ms. Ashley Tisdale will star in They Came From Upstairs, in which she and some friends have to protect their house from aliens! The movie will be out next year.

In other movie news, Vanessa Hudgens and Alyson Michalka will both star in Will, a movie about a high school rock band that comes out next year. V and Aly will be heading down to Austin, TX to film Will, so if you’re nearby, maybe you’ll spot them on the town. If you do, let us know!

Aly told me it would be tough to be away from sis, AJ, for so long. While Aly’s in Texas, AJ will be in New Zealand, finishing her movie, The Lovely Bones. She said she and AJ would have to get an international long-distance cell phone plan for all the chatting they plan to do!

I was backstage last night at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles and witnessed the JONAS BROTHERS perform “S.O.S.” live. Like many of you, I felt my heart drop when Joe Jonas tripped onstage at the start of their performance. I have to tell you, though, that Joe was such a rock star, bouncing right back up on his feet and giving an amazing performance. His bros Nick and Kevin were awesome as well. I’m so proud of these guys for giving JoBro fans all over the world another reason to smile!

When the guys came backstage after their performance, Joe didn’t mind what happened at all. “Just a little blood,” he smiled. Whatta trooper! The guys are having a great time on their tour with Miley Cyrus - and told me there’s another big JONAS TOUR coming up in summer 2008. I’m sure it’ll include new songs that the guys are currently writing and recording on their tour bus.

The cast of High School Musical - Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, KayCee Stroh, and Ryne Sanborn - were also in attendance. The girls looked so glam last night in their sparkly party dresses. Too bad cutie Zac Efron wasn’t there. Vanessa told me he was starting production on his new movie Seventeen. I was so happy to hear that they were all coming back for High School Musical 3 and asked what they wanted to see happen in the next movie. “I want Sharpay to be prom queen!” Ashley exclaimed. Wildcats go to prom? Count me in!

There were so many celebs who hung out backstage to chat, including big winners Fergie, Carrie Underwood, and Ne-Yo - who watched Beyonce perform a bluegrass version of “Irreplaceable,” the hit song he wrote for her. He was surprised at first but still loved the country version of the song. I also spotted Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Avril Lavigne getting ready for their great performances.
